Unfortunately, there is still no ETA on by when there will be an official update of ICS firmware version but as soon as it arrives, we will let you know here. Let’s head to the next page where we have summed up essential pre requisites which you need to follow.
Essential Pre Requisites:
  • In the process of applying this update, there is a possibility that the data in your HTC Evo 3D CDMA may get lost or corrupted, so its recommended to back up the same only with the help of below mentioned steps and not with the HTC Sync as it doesn’t recognize the device in custom ROM firmwares.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts –
Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log -
Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
  • Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
  • Enable the USB Debugging in your HTC Evo 3D CDMA from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked. Disable all the antivirus suites in your computer and uninstall the same in your device as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.
  •  Download the Newts One S custom Firmware Package and patch from here to your computer and then connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable. Place the downloaded zip files in your phone’s SD Card and disconnect the device from the computer to turn Off the same.
  • The Boot loader mode in HTC Evo 3D CDMA can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the HTC Evo 3D CDMA boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode.
  • In the boot loader mode, you need to select “recovery” so as to enter into the recovery mode. Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Newts One S custom Firmware Package which you have placed in your phone and then select the Patch file.

  • Once the device is updated successfully, the phone will be landing back to the recovery mode screen. Please note that the whole process may take around 5 – 10 minutes for applying this update. After this from the recovery mode, you need to select“++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. Please note that it will take more than normal time
Note: At any point of time just in case if the process of firmware update gets stopped due to any reason, all you need to do is restart the process from the start by re inserting the battery.
